Inside Our Skills Accelerator Training Session

The cohort were introduced to three of the most in-demand roles in today’s project environments: Business Analysis (BA), Product Development (PD), and Project Management (PM). And we explored how these roles intertwine and collaborate throughout the project lifecycle.

Rather than treating these roles in isolation, the cohort learned that successful projects depend on the strong alignment of all three:

  • Business Analysts (BA) focus on understanding the problem – gathering requirements, analysing needs, and ensuring the right questions are being asked.
  • Product Developers (PD) focus on building the solution – designing and developing a product that meets user and business needs.
  • Project Managers (PM) focus on delivering the outcome – coordinating people, timelines, risks, and resources to ensure successful delivery.

How the Roles Intertwine

One of the key takeaways from the session was that these roles are not silos. They operate in a continuous feedback loop:

  • The BA defines what is needed.
  • The PD determines how it should work.
  • The PM ensures when it gets done and who does what.

When these three roles collaborate effectively, projects become:

  • More user-focused
  • Better structured
  • Delivered on time and with higher quality

This session helped participants see the big picture of modern project work and understand how they can position themselves for roles in business analysis, product, and project environments – especially in agile and transformation-driven organisations.
