THE CHALLANGE
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, needed to transform their UNN Lion App into a comprehensive platform that went beyond academic support to include robust career development tools. The app required seamless access to job portals, internships, volunteering, career fairs, and personalised career advice, while also improving user experience, ensuring peak performance reliability, and integrating with university systems for streamlined access to key resources.
OUR APPROACH
We worked with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to enhance their UNN Lion App, transforming it into a powerful tool not only for academic support but also for career development. We focused on integrating key career-related features and improving the app’s functionality to better serve students as they navigate both their academic and professional journeys.
THE OUTCOME
Streamlined Career-Related Information Access: We provided seamless access to career-focused content by incorporating dedicated sections for job listings, internship & volunteering opportunities, and upcoming career events. Students can now track their career progression alongside academic results, creating a holistic view of their university experience.
Integrated Career Services Module: We partnered with the university’s career services department to ensure that content is regularly updated and aligned with students’ career needs. We added useful features such as job search filters, career resources, and a student/alumni networking function, helping students find career opportunities while enhancing their professional networks.
Centralised Career and Academic Information: We worked with the university to integrate the app with the career management systems already in place. This ensured that job and internship postings were centralised within the app, allowing students to easily access, apply, and track their career journey from one location.
Personalised Career Development Content: By incorporating AI-based career advice tools, the app now analyses students’ skills, interests, and academic progress to suggest tailored job opportunities, career paths, and networking events. This ensures that each student receives personalized career development guidance based on their individual needs.
