The CHALLENGE
In Plateau State, as with many regions in Nigeria, there is a significant need to empower young people with the skills, knowledge, and mindset required to succeed in both their careers and entrepreneurial pursuits. Youth unemployment and a lack of practical skills often prevent young individuals from realising their full potential, limiting their opportunities for personal and professional growth. The challenge was clear: how can we equip these youths with the tools and resources to not only succeed in the workforce but to also become self-reliant and sustainable entrepreneurs?
OUR APPROACH
In response to this challenge, Acereal Consult had the privilege of partnering with the Plateau State Ministry of Youth Development to implement the Plateau State Youth Development Programs. Together, we created a transformative initiative aimed at empowering 60 talented youths from Plateau State.
Our approach involved a combination of tailored career development training, entrepreneurship mentorship, and practical skills workshops. We focused on equipping participants with essential skills for the modern workforce, while also fostering creativity, leadership, and innovative thinking, critical elements for entrepreneurial success.
Through hands-on activities and expert guidance, we empowered each participant to take ownership of their career and business journey. By fostering a mindset rooted in positive thinking, creativity, and self-reliance, we aimed to prepare these youths for a future where they could confidently lead and contribute to the sustainable development of their communities.
THE OUTCOME
The Plateau State Youth Development Programs achieved remarkable success. Participants not only gained valuable skills but also developed the confidence and leadership abilities required to pursue their personal and professional goals. As a result of our collaboration, these 60 youths were better equipped to thrive in their careers, launch their own businesses, and become active agents of change in their communities
The initiative is a testament to the Plateau State Ministry of Youth Development’s commitment to harnessing the full potential of the youth, fostering a generation capable of leading with purpose and impact. Through this partnership, we have helped create a foundation for future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, building a stronger, more sustainable future for Plateau State and beyond.
This collaboration was not just about imparting technical skills; it was about igniting the drive and ambition within the next generation of youth. Together, we’ve laid the groundwork for a community of young individuals who are not only prepared for the workforce but are also equipped to create and sustain their own entrepreneurial ventures. By focusing on both career and entrepreneurship, we are helping to build a future where the youth are empowered to rise above challenges and lead with purpose.
